Why

Michigan Energy Code requires a new home to be equal to or less than 4 ACH50 (air changes per hour with the blower door depressurizing the home to -50 Pa). Ensuring a structures airtightness is critical in ensuring its longevity.

Blower door testing is used to determine the air tightness of a structure. New homes, additions, large renovations, or existing homes. New homes are required to be at or below 4.0 ACH (air changes per hour). The results of an imbalanced home has a cost - high energy costs or mechanical ventilation. Performing blower door testing on an existing structure can identify your homes need to ensure its longevity and integrity. 

Infrared imaging is used to identify structures insulation effectiveness and tightness. Completing infrared will produce a homeowner with details on exact locations where conditioned air is compromised.
